Colorado State University

I graduated from Colorado State University in 2008 with a major in Economics and a minor in Political Science. When in polite company, I do my best not to broach either subject (or religion, for that matter).
I was very involved at CSU, and the energy I put into student government and various internships prepared me for the working world in ways that no course could. Not to mention that I had tons of fun, made friends for life, and scored a bunch of free, green tee shirts.
High School
I graduated from Niwot High School in 2004. While there, I sung in choir and competed in speech and debate. I also took a ridiculous number of Advanced Placement tests, earning recognition as a National Advanced Placement Scholar.
Childhood
I was born in Virginia, but my parents moved us to Colorado before I could really understand. Good call, Mom and Dad.
Other Memorable Moments
- My parents have three more kids, bringing their brood to five. They aren’t Catholic or Mormon, just nuts.
- A first grade classmate named Bill asks me if I want to learn karate. “Yes.” Bill then knees me in the groin. “See, that’s karate. Cool, huh?”
- The Colorado Rockies begin playing baseball in Denver. I decide to become a first baseman when I grow up.
- A seagull poops on my head while my family is vacationing at Rehobeth Beach. For the rest of the day, I wear an XL neon yellow t-shirt purchased from a street vendor.
- A smart-aleck 6th grade classmate counts backward from my birthday, and tells me that I was conceived on Christmas Eve of 1984, plus or minus a day or two. This remains unverified.
- I start two businesses, “A Man and a Mower” and “Mark and Dan Marketing.” I make millions.
